The feeling of the sun beating down on you,
Running rapidly for hours in the 80 degree weather
Putting all you can into a sport you love.
Watching as your sweat drips from your forehead
Knowing that you’re training for a battle every Saturday
Looking across the field;
Knowing that there are 11 guys that are coming after you
Getting in the trenches with some of your closest friends
Fighting each other to make yourselves better
But ending it with a handshake
All of this is worth it that one day in November
When your team raise that state championship trophy in victory.
